Pick a winner!

Predictions should be left to oracles, gamblers and astrologers.  The Achacha is certainly on its way, however we are not sure about the exact date.  We guess that early January might be the time as we normally follow the mango season, which is much later than usual this year and looks like continuing into Janaury.

On most trees we had flowers, buds, small, medium and large fruit all at the one time. Then some green fruit and some yellow as they started maturing. From the time the fruit starts to take on colour a month or so of sunny weather is needed for it to reach maturity and to be ready for harvesting. We usually do three picks. Mangoes are picked in three weeks but our harvest may continue over several months. An advantage of the Achacha is that it can remain on the tree for many weeks before it is picked.
